New Nissan Teana will be launched on the Chinese car market on March 18
The new Nissan Teana will be launched on the Chinese car market on March 18, price will start around 190.000 yuan and end around 230.000 yuan. The new Nissan Teana is basically the same car as the new 2013 US-spec Nissan Altima. A China-only extended Teana will be launched in October.
The Nissan Teana is made in China by the Dongfeng-Nissan joint venture. Engines: a 2.0 with 140hp and 190nm and a 2.5 V6 with 185hp and 234nm, both mated to a CVT. The 3.5 V6 has been deleted. Size: 4868/1830/1490, wheelbase is 2775. The Teana competes with fine cars such as the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Volkswagen Magotan and Citroen C5.
Roof line still goes very low, limiting space in the back. Most cars in this segment are driven by a chauffeur and the base Teana, old and new, is just too small inside for a hard working businessman or government official. The extended version was developed after much pressure from Chinese Nissan dealers, who clearly hope sales of a stretched Teana will earn them more money.
Big chrome bar on boot lid. China needs shiny cars…
New dash very sleek. A lotta chrome again and a medium sized flat screen. Cup holders big enough to hold a tea bottle.
