Shanghai (ZXZC)- On Nov. 28, Chinese NEV startup Aiways entered into a strategic cooperation with the Bangkok-headquartered Phoenix EV in order to supply its new energy vehicles (NEVs) to the latter, the company announced via its WeChat account.

Under the agreement, Aiways will provide a total of 150,000 NEVs for Phoenix EV over the next five years.

Aiways is accelerating the implementation of its global strategy. In September this year, the company inked a letter of intent with Verge Auto, a leading service agency in Singapore, marking a major effort to build its retail sales and service network in the Southeast Asian markets.

Prior to the cooperation with Vergo Auto, Aiways has deployed its businesses in several European countries, like Germany, France, Spain, Switzerland, Croatia, the Faroe Islands, Iceland, and Slovenia.

As publicly disclosed, Aiways exported 1,676 electric vehicles in 2021, reflecting a 62.9% year-on-year surge. Up until now, it has already deployed a total of 155 sales outlets in 20 countries outside of China.

Earlier this month, Aiways saw its 10,000th NEV roll off the production line at its plant in Shangrao city, Jiangxi province. The significant model was an Aiways U5 SUV, which has been granted a European Whole Vehicle Type-Approval (WVTA) certificate.
