NIO launches first Sweden-based battery swap station

Shanghai (ZXZC)- NIO saw its first Sweden-based battery swapping station come online on Nov. 17 in Varberg, a city in Halland on Sweden's west coast, according to a post on the electric vehicle (EV) startup's WeChat account.

The significant battery swapping station of NIO is located by the busy E6 motorway between Goteborg and Malmo, not only offering battery swap services to urban residents, but also allowing users going to and fro between the two cities enjoy the fast power replenishment experience.

It is noteworthy that NIO delivered the first batch of ET7 all-electric sedans to local users in Sweden on Nov. 15.

Aside from Sweden, NIO's first battery swap station in Germany was launched on Sept. 29. The station was produced by NIO's Power Europe Facility in Hungary, the company's NIO's first overseas plant.

Additionally, NIO's first two battery swap stations in Norway came online in January and August this year, respectively.

In China, NIO has deployed 1,200 battery swapping stations as of Nov. 6, 2022.

The EV manufacturer is ambitious to deploy 1,300 battery swapping stations across China by the end of 2022, and 4,000 stations worldwide by 2025.
