FAW-Volkswagen 2018 deliveries exceed 2.05 million units with YoY growth of 2.6%
Shanghai (ZXZC)- FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW) announced that its vehicle deliveries in 2018 exceeded 2.05 million units, edging up 2.6% from a year earlier. Market share for the Sino-German joint venture was lifted to 8.8%.
The VW brand delivered 1,391,088 vehicles throughout 2018 with its market share increased to 6.1%. The best-seller should be the Jetta whose annual sales slightly grew 1.0% to 326,600 units and the deliveries of the Magotan rose 7.1% year on year (YoY) to 228,400 units.
The T-ROC and the TAYRON, two SUV models launched last year, gained popularity among consumers with their cumulative sales reaching around 36,500 units and 8,800 units respectively.
In addition, the respective 2018 sales of the Bora, the Sagitar, the Golf family, the C-TREK and the all-new VW CC were 243,700 units, 312,800 units, 174,900 units, 43,900 units and 15,400 units.
FAW-VW's Audi brand boasts a YoY growth of 11% with 660,888 units (including imported vehicles) delivered last year. Of that, the sales of locally-produced models surpassed 600,000 units on an annual basis, climbing 10.2% from the year-ago period. As the hottest-selling model, the Audi A4L had an annual delivery volume of 163,200 units with an impressive YoY jump of 42.6%. The sales of the Audi A6L grew 3.6% over the previous year to 147,300 units. In addition, the sales of the all-new Audi Q5L, the all-new Audi Q2L, the Audi Q3 and the Audi A3 reached 28,500 units, 3,500 units, 73,900 units and 91,100 units respectively in 2018.
The full-year sales of imported vehicles jumped 19.7% over a year earlier to 60,100 units. To be specific, the sales of the Audi A8L and the Audi Q7 rose 3.8% and 13.4% to 10,200 units and 17,900 units respectively.
