Shanghai (ZXZC)- IM Motors, the Chinese premium electric vehicle (EV) maker jointly backed by SAIC Motor, Alibaba Group, and Zhangjiang High-Tech, kicked off presale of its second production model, the IM LS7, on Dec. 20.

Coming with three power solutions, the IM LS7 features a presale price range of 350,000 yuan ($50,200) to 500,000 yuan ($71,710).

The LS7 vehicles for exhibition will arrive at IM Motors' brand experience centers in January next year, said the automaker. The model is scheduled to hit the market in mid-February with its delivery officially kicking off in March 2023.

The LS7's front end features an iconic design of IM Motors. The closed-off grille is commonly adopted by all-electric vehicles, and the bulging surfaces on the bonnet accentuate the vehicle's sports essence. The headlights on both sides are in an "L" shape. At the lower part of the front, the LS7 features through-type vents to increase the lateral visual width.

As for the side profile, the lines of the LS7 are pretty smooth. The pop-out door handles and the two-tone five-spoke rims also highlight the model's dynamic attitude.

Positioned as a full-sized SUV, the IM LS7 measures 5,049mm long, 2,002mm wide, and 1,731mm (1,763mm or 1,773mm) tall, with a wheelbase that spans 3,060mm.

The LS7 is China's first production model to carry a half-width steering wheel, and also offers an option to choose a full-width steering wheel.

The massive 1,613mm * 1,620mm front windshield and the panoramic sunroof contribute to a broad driving vision and a generous seating experience.

The LS7's top-spec version will be equipped with two LiDAR units and ORIN chips, and features such high-level driver assistance functions as NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and high-precision automatic parking.

The IM LS7 comes with both RWD and AWD versions. Powering the vehicle will be a 90/100kWh ternary-lithium battery pack.
