Shanghai (ZXZC)- Northeast China's Jilin province aims to build 7,000 charging stations available for all kinds of electric vehicles (EVs), 120 battery swapping stations, and 70 EV charging stations during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), according to a document issued by the Energy Administration of Jilin Province a few days ago.

The document is released to show the five-year planning for the development of Jilin Province's EV charging and battery swapping infrastructures ended 2025.

Per the planning, Jilin expects to deploy 500 charging and battery swapping stations, and over 10,000 charging piles across the province by the end of 2025, in a bid to satisfy the charging demands of over 100,000 public EVs.

According to the document, the new energy vehicle (NEV) output and sales volumes of Jilin Province reached 102,000 units and 103,000 units in 2021, soaring 84.3% and 102% from the previous year, respectively.

Local authorities predicted that there would be 205,300 or even more NEVs running on roads across Jilin Province by the end of 2025, based on an overall consideration of the estimation results by both the elasticity coefficient and logistic curve methods. With the growth of NEV population, charging demands are likely to grow to 480 million kWh in Jilin as of 2025.
