NIO’s president reveals 76% of power from NIO’s charging piles offered to non-NIO brands
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Of the power provided by NIO's charging piles from Jan. 13 to Feb. 5, the peak travel season around the Chinese New Year Holiday, around 76% were offered to users of non-NIO brands, according to Qin Lihong, NIO’s co-founder and president, who delivered the information at a media event on Feb. 6.
To be specific, BYD and Tesla vehicles used up a respective 17.6% and 15.8% of the electricity powering non-NIO-branded vehicles, while XPeng accounted for 4.1%.

From Jan. 13, 2023 to Feb. 5, 2023, there were over 950,000 users welcomed at NIO Houses, and NIO users cumulatively drove for roughly 384 million kilometers with 18 users recording a respective driving distance of over 10,000 kilometers, according to Qin Lihong.
During this period, NIO provided around 1.245 million power swaps, among which over 370 thousand swaps were completed at the NIO power swap stations along the highways, and 13,723 swaps were flexible battery upgrades to enhance the long-distance travel experience.
Meanwhile, the electric vehicle startup also completed around 900,000 charging sessions during the time span.
NIO deployed a total of 1,305 battery swap stations in China last year, 346 of which were built along expressways, said Li Qihong.
He also added that NIO had so far built 13,629 charging piles across China, making it the No.1 car brand in the country by cumulative volume of charging piles.
