Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG & G65 AMG hit the China car market
The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG & G65 AMG have been launched on the Chinese car market, trying to satisfy China’s hunger for ever-faster SUV’s. The Mercedes monsters cost monster money. The C63 AMG goes for 2.29 million yuan (367.000 USD) and the G65 AMG for 3.78 million yuan (605.000 USD).
The G65 (pic) is the new King of SUV Country, it has its worldwide debut, where else?, on the Beijing Auto Show in April. Power comes from a brute 6.0 twinturbo V12 with 612hp and 1000hp. Top speed is 230km/h, 0-100 is gone in 5.3 seconds. The G63 is slightly less mad, under the bonnet sits a 5.5 twinturbo V8 with 544hp and 760nm. Top speed is 210km/h and 0-100 is gone in 5.4 seconds. Chinese media reports that the China-quota for the G65 AMG has already been sold out.
