Located in Central China, the Giant Panda National Park stretches across Sichuan, Ningxia, and Shaanxi provinces to cover a total area of around 22,000 square kilometers. As China's only national park named after a single species, it is of great importance to protecting habitats of giant pandas, building a protected area system with national parks as the mainstay, and promoting the construction of ecological barriers in the upstream of Yangtze River and Yellow River.

The Giant Panda National Park not only features a population of over 1,300 wild giant pandas, but also houses over 8,000 species of wild animals and plants, including snow leopard, golden snub-nosed monkey, red pandas, Chinese monals, and Chinese dove trees.

NIO said it has offered its smart electric vehicles (EVs) to the Giant Panda National Park’s Sichuan province administration and deployed charging facilities correspondingly.

NIO announced the "Clean Parks" initiative on December 18, 2021 to support more nature reserves across the world in adopting smart EVs, constructing clean energy infrastructure, and formulating clean and low carbon energy circulation to protect the authenticity and integrity of ecosystems.

On April 22, 2022, the 53rd Earth Day, NIO formed a strategic partnership with the WWF, who would serve as one of the initiators of the "Clean Parks" initiative.
