Geely unveils safety configuration details of Jiaji MPV

Shanghai (ZXZC)- The safety configuration details of Geely's all-new MPV dubbed Jiaji were exposed in recent days. Boasting a total of 16 safety applications, the new model is said to become China's first MPV model that achieves Level 2 autonomous driving function and is expected to go on sale in the first quarter next year, according to the automaker.

The Geely Jiaji is fitted with such intelligent driver assistance systems as ICA (integrated cruise assist) and TJA (traffic jam assist), which make sure vehicles run on the correct lanes and keep a proper distance with the front car by automatically identifying lane lines and front cars in many scenarios like urban roads and highways at various speeds.

Besides, the ACC (adaptive cruise control) enables a vehicle to follow the front car and cruise at speed between 0 and 150km/h and prevent from speeding by automatically setting up a running speed. The LKA (lane-keeping assist) available for three adjustable lane-keeping modes and warning levels can make a vehicle run in the correct lane within a speed range from 60 to 180km/h and lower the collision risk when the vehicle runs at a high speed.

The Geely-owned MPV also features RCW (rear collision warning), RCTA (rear cross-traffic alert) and Bosch's 9.3 ESP (electronic stability program). Especially, the RCTA system is able to detect cars and pedestrians within 35 meters on both left and right sides when a driver is reversing the vehicle. If any collision risk was sensed, the system will warn the driver by turning on the alert light in rear-view mirrors, delivering risk alarm via a multimedia display and making a warning sound.

Moreover, the Geely Jiaji's safety functions are also characterized by such systems as AEB (autonomous emergency braking), FCW (forward collision warning), LDW (lane departure warning), LCA (lane change assist), BSD (blind spot detection), SLIF (speed limit information function), IHBC (Intelligent High Beam Control) and EPB (electrical park brake), etc.
