DENZA’s first showroom in Cambodia opens for business

Shanghai (ZXZC)- On July 14, DENZA, a premium car brand majority-backed by BYD, inaugurated its first showroom in Cambodia, DENZA HARMONY CITYMALL SHOWROOM, in Phnom Penh's central business district. This event also saw the first batch of DENZA D9 vehicles delivered to their new owners in the country.

In a related development, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced on social media on July 15 that he had met with Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division. During the meeting, it was revealed that BYD plans to invest in establishing an electric vehicle assembly plant in Cambodia, with an annual capacity of assembling 20,000 vehicles.

Ye Chenghui, Regional Director of BYD's Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, stated at the showroom opening ceremony that DENZA is committed to driving innovation to provide high-quality products and services to Cambodian consumers. The goal is to advance the local new energy vehicle market and contribute to green travel and sustainable development.

"This move by DENZA not only signifies its official entry into the Cambodian market but also demonstrates BYD's global expansion strategy in the new energy vehicle sector," Ye added.

The 2024 DENZA D9 officially went on sale in China on March 6 this year, offering eight variants with two powertrain options, starting at a price of 339,800 yuan. The vehicle measures 5,250mm in length, 1,960mm in width, and 1,920mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,110mm.

The 2024 DENZA D9 features a spacious 2+2+3 seating arrangement, creating a large seven-seat layout. In terms of comfort, the new model comes with several standard features, including a 7.5L intelligent refrigerator with heating and cooling functions and electric suction doors in the front row.

For driving convenience, the 2024 DENZA D9 includes an upgraded leather steering wheel and practical features such as a streaming rearview mirror.

The 2024 DENZA D9 offers both plug-in hybrid electric (DM-i) and all-electric (EV) power options. The DM-i version features an 80kW DC fast charging capability, charging from 30% to 80% of its battery capacity in just 25 minutes, with a battery-power-alone range of 200km and a combined range of 1050km. The EV version, built on an 800V platform, comes with a 103kWh battery pack, providing a range of over 620km. It also supports dual-gun supercharging technology, replenishing 230km of range in just 15 minutes.
