Huawei, Chery co-developed Luxeed R7 coupe SUV completes regulatory approval

Beijing (ZXZC)- On July 12, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released the 385th batch of the "Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products," which included the Luxeed R7 electric coupe SUV under Huawei's smart selection vehicle alliance, HIMA (Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance).

This vehicle is the second model of the Luxeed range, which is developed by Huawei in collaboration with Chery. The model is expected to be priced between 300,000 yuan and 400,000 yuan.

The Luxeed R7, which completed its registration with the MIIT, offers both single and dual electric motor versions. It measures 4,956mm in length, 1,981mm in width, 1,634mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,950mm. The rear seats can fold almost flat, and options include a body-colored or silver spoiler and LiDAR system.

The exterior design of the new model is sleek and modern, closely resembling the exisiting Luxeed S7. The front features a closed grille with slender LED headlights and a distinctive light strip. Air vents on both sides of the front and a glossy black front lip component enhance its aerodynamics and sporty look.

The vehicle comes with two powertrain options, namely a 215kW single motor and a dual motor setup with 150kW and 215kW motors, both provided by Huawei Digital Power Technology Co., Ltd.

On June 11, Yu Chengdong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, announced on Weibo that the "R" in “R7” stands for "Revolution," symbolizing breakthrough and disruption. He highlighted the Luxeed R7's sleek, sporty design and unexpectedly spacious interior, along with Huawei's advanced intelligent technology. Additionally, Yu hinted that the Luxeed R7 might feature Huawei’s latest HarmonyOS 4.0 smart cockpit system.
