CATL to supply FlexGen with energy storage equipment
Shanghai (ZXZC)- CATL on Sept. 21 announced its cooperation with FlexGen Power Systems, Inc. ("FlexGen"), an U.S.-based energy storage technology platform and energy storage solution provider, to supply the latter with 10GWh of its energy storage equipment over a three-year period.
Under the agreement, CATL will supply FlexGen with EnerC, a containerized liquid-cooling battery system. In line with the IP55 and C5 anti-corrosion protection standards, EnerC is able to meet the requirements of various extreme climate conditions, and support the safe and reliable operation of the whole system for 20 years, said the battery maker.

CATL also noted that EnerC adopts an industry-leading highly integrated liquid cooling design, which contributes to an energy density of up to 259.7kWh per square meter, almost a 200% increase compared to the traditional air-cooling systems.
Powered by FlexGen's HybridOS™ energy management system platform, CATL will use its energy storage system to provide advanced and reliable energy for utility, competitive power market, as well as municipal and cooperative utility projects.
According to CATL's press release, the HybridOS™ platform is currently powering the high-performance energy storage system in Texas, California, and across North America.
Notably, the announcement closely came after FlexGen was appointed as a CATL's authorized service provider to provide maintenance and optimization services for the battery maker's energy storage system. Thus, the new agreement signing further cemented both parties’ partnership and will also expand CATL's service network in North America.
Up until now, the duo has cooperated on energy storage system projects involving a total capacity of 2.5GWh.
