Geely Nov. sales edge up 0.3% YoY despite 5 models showing double-digit drop
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely) announced on December 6 that it achieved a month-on-month (MoM) growth of 10% with 141,661 vehicles sold in November. Compared with the same period a year ago, it also gained a slight year-on-year (YoY) increase of 0.3%.
For the first eleven months, Geely saw its year-to-date (YTD) sales jump 29% from the year-ago period to 1,407,505 units, completing 89% of the 1.58 million-unit annual sales target.
There were a total of 9 models whose Nov. sales exceeded 10,000 units. However, apart from the Geely Binrui and the Binyue which hit the market on August 30 and October 31 respectively as well as the Vision X3, the other six models all presented YoY decline in monthly sales, among which the Emgrand, the all-new Vision, the Boyue, the Emgrand GS and the Vision SUV all had double-digit YoY decline. In spite of the negative growth of several sales drivers, Geely still accomplished positive YoY increase last month thanks to the favorable performance made by certain new models.
Both the Geely Binrui and Binyue, going on sale in the second half of the year, had respective sales surpassing 10,000 units in November. Especially, the Geely Binyue SUV received a good start within only one month since it was up for sale from the end of October.
The Lynk & Co brand delivered a total of 12,321 vehicles in November, including 5,302 Lynk & Co 01s, 3,008 Lynk & Co 02s and 4,011 Lynk & Co 03s. By the end of November, the premium car brand has delivered 114,629 vehicles this year.
The “Blue Geely” initiative powered by a NEV lineup consisting of such models as the Emgrand EV, the Emgrand GSe and the Borui GE seems to acquire a preliminary achievement. Last month, a total of 10,575 NEVs were sold by the automaker.
