As of Sept. 10, 2022, NIO's users have conducted more than 12 million battery swaps cumulatively, said the startup. Currently, more than 30,000 battery swaps can be fulfilled at NIO Power Swap stations per day.

Up until now, around 64.13% NIO users have lived in the “Swap Station District Houses”, which refer to residences within a 3 km radius from a NIO battery swap station. The percentage is expected to be raised to over 90% by 2025.

Of the battery swap stations deployed so far, a total of 292 stations are located along expressways.

NIO aims to fulfill the deployment of a “nine vertical + nine horizontal expressways + 19 city clusters” inter-city expressway battery swapping network in China by 2025.

The EV manufacturer expects its total number of battery swap stations to exceed 1,300 by 2022 in China, and reach 4,000 worldwide by 2025.
