Tesla newly builds 48 supercharging stations on Chinese mainland in July

Shanghai (ZXZC)- In July, Tesla newly added 48 supercharging stations and 198 Superchargers on the Chinese mainland, according to a post via the U.S. EV maker's WeChat account.

Those new charging facilities were located in 33 cities (or counties), including Beijing, Tianjin, Qinhuangdao, Xi'an, Dalian, Benxi, Shanghai, Nanjing, Yancheng, Changzhou, Wuxi, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen. All of them were the V3 type, which can support peak rates of up to 250kW per car.The automaker said it has so far launched more than 1,200 supercharging stations and over 700 destination stations, embracing 8,900+ Superchargers and 1,800+ destination charging piles, in 370 plus cities and regions on the Chinese mainland.

To date, Tesla has opened more than 35,000 Superchargers worldwide, the company said, repeating previous figures.

Tesla celebrated a milestone in mid-August when its Shanghai Gigafactory output its 1 millionth vehicle. The Shanghai facility was lauded by the carmaker as "the most efficient" one of its global production network.

The Shanghai plant now has an annual production capacity of 750,000 vehicles, as Tesla's largest manufacturing facility across the world. Over 95% of Shanghai-made Tesla vehicles' auto parts are locally sourced in China.
