Lynk & Co 05 spied on the road, said to hit markets in 2019
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Lynk & Co 05 developed by Lynk & Co, the car brand jointly owned by Geely and Volvo Cars, has been recently spied on the road. The new vehicle, positioned as a crossover SUV with a fastback-like profile, is expected to go on sale next year.
Like its elder sisters the Lynk & Co 01, 02 and 03, the Lynk & Co 05 also rides on the CMA (compact modular architecture) platform developed by Volvo Cars in cooperation with parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. Lynk & Co is developing a compact hatchback dubbed the Lynk & Co 04, which is based on the CMA platform as well.
According to the spy shots exposed, the vehicle is heavily camouflaged, while we still can see from the outline that this is a fastback SUV. The rear end features a ducktail design, which is might be the rear spoiler that helps the vehicle run more steadily. Besides, a massive piece of glass may be used as the rear windshield.
The Lynk & Co 05 will reportedly offer two engine variants—a 1.5L turbocharged engine and a 2.0L turbocharged engine, hooked up to a dual clutch transmission. Its NEV (new energy vehicle) version is likely to be launched in the future.
