Cadillac CTS goes Kitch in China
When a Cadillac alone is not kitch enough, come to China, where they can make things much worse. This is a fine Cadillac CTS made prettier with a lotta plastic ‘crystals’. For China, this is actually subtle, see for example this SRX. Still, hyper kitch it is, but it kinda worx on a Caddy.
The Cadillac CTS is imported into China, making it expensive compared with the German competition that is made locally. GM is trying very hard to push Cadillac on the market, last month GM launched a China-only CTS Vday special edition and the monster CTS-V Coupe was launched just last week. Chinese car buyers however seems mostly interested in the Escalade SUV, which was duly noted by Chinese copy-cat auto makers. Good news is; when Chinese buyers buy a Caddy, they seem to love it. Earlier on we met a SRX in matte-black and a CTS Coupe in matte-black & chrome. All very nice, but if Cadillac really wants to succeed in China they need something like this again.
