Tencent Cloud, Saleen Automotive forge partnership on autonomous driving, IoV
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Tencent Cloud and Jiangsu Saleen Automotive Technologies Group (JSAT), Saleen Automotive's Chinese affiliate, signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Shanghai on November 9, saying that two companies will jointly work on cloud computing, IoV (Internet of Vehicles), autonomous driving, digital marketing as well as big data innovation, etc.
Mao Tianhua, executive vice president of JSAT, said that both JSAT and Tencent Cloud advocate the consumer-centric development idea and possess in-depth understanding on travelling scenarios. Two parties can draw on each other's strengths in businesses development.
Tencent Cloud, a public cloud computing service platform owned by Tencent, not only boasts numerous Internet service experience, but also gets great support from Tencent in such businesses as social network, e-commerce, recreation and financial payment, etc.
Xu Yiming, vice president of Tencent, thinks that Saleen Automotive's planning on technologies, businesses and automotive culture is in tune with the scenarios integrating vehicles and cloud in which Tencent Cloud is proactively develop.
Saleen Automotive, headed by CEO Steve Saleen, a leader, innovator, designer, manufacturer, racer, and trendsetter in mass customization, has been producing vehicles for 35 years. At the 2017 LA Auto Show, the company unveiled the Saleen 1 supercar which is powered by an inline 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that makes the vehicle can run at the top speed of 290km/h and sprint from 0-100km/h within 3.5 seconds.
