The first spy shots of the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer (wagon…) testing in China, which means it will likely be launched on the China auto market soon. The Opel Insignia sedan is made in China by the Shanghai-GM joint venture, rebadged as the Buick Regal. GM however doesn’t make any Buick wagon so Opel can fill that gap.

It will however be expensive because the Sports Tourer will be imported. Yez, old Opel is getting completely China-mad. Earlier on we saw spy shots of the Opel Astra GTC and the new Opel Zafira which will be imported as well. Opel already sells the Antara, Astra A+ and old Zafira in China, all as imports. Sales are slow, expensive and the brand is unknown, but for some reason Opel hopes the new cars will do better. The China-bound Insignia Sports Tourer will be powered by a 2.0 turbo with 220hp and 350nm.
