Only yesterday we had the first pictures of the production version of the SouEast V5 sedan. Pics were a bit shady, so today we have much better ones. We also have the name of the production car; SouEast V5 Lingzhi (菱致). Just ‘V5’ would be boring indeed…

The V5 is based on the platform from the last-gen Mitsubishi Lancer that is still being made by the SouEast-Mitsubishi joint venture. Power comes an imported Mitsubishi-sourced 1.8 with 144hp mated to a CVT. Later on SouEast will offer its own 1.5 and 1.5 turbo as well. Chinese media report today that the 1.5 will get 120hp, no word yet on the 1.5 turbo, which will likely power the upcoming sporty SouEast V5. Price for the V5 Lingzhi with the 1.6 will range from around 70.000 to 90.000 yuan.
