Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Eletre, the high-performance full-electric SUV under the Geely-owned upscale brand Lotus, will make its China debut on June 1, 2022, according to a post on Lotus' WeChat account.

The model will be put into volume production at the brand's intelligent plant in Wuhan in the second half of this year. The Eletre is now on presale across global markets, with initial customer deliveries starting in 2023 in China, the UK and Europe.

As the first pure electric SUV of Lotus, the Eletre features a striking and progress exterior styling. The automaker said the model delivers a significant number of firsts for Lotus—the first five-door mass-produced vehicle, the first lifestyle EV, and the most “connected” Lotus model ever.

The Eletre rides on Lotus' all-new and highly versatile Electric Premium Architecture (EPA). The platform mixes aluminum and high-strength steel to provide rigidity and low weight that helps deliver outstanding riding and handling experience.

Lotus said the EPA can easily adapt to accommodate C+ to E+ vehicle class battery sizes, motors, component layouts, and intelligent driving technologies.

Positioned as a full-sized SUV, the Eletre measures 5,103mm long, 2,019mm wide (excluding the rearview mirrors), and 1,630mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 3,019mm.

Inside the cabin, the designers have worked on creating a high-tech look to attract tech-savvy customers. At the center console, a 15.1-inch OLED touch-screen provides access to the car’s advanced infotainment system. It automatically folds flat when not required. Information can also be displayed to the driver via an AR-enabled HUD.

The Lotus Eletre targets a maximum 600-km WLTP range thanks to the 100kWh battery pack. The 4WD power layout is expected to churn out 600hp at least. A 350kW charger will give a 400km range in just 20 minutes of charging. Besides, the model also comes standard with the ability to support 22kW AC charging.

The Eletre is equipped with a hardware suite composed of LiDAR sensors, high-definition cameras, and 4D millimeter-wave radars, to deliver advanced driver assistant features.
