CarBuzz.com is Stealing Content

Publishtime:1970-01-01 08:00:00 Views:4

The American car news website CarBuzz.com systematically steals my content for their China-tag. CarBuzz.com steals my pictures, my information, but does not link back to me. This has been going on for more than half a year now. I have been in touch with CarBuzz.com. They promised me three times to make things better and link back to me. After each promise they did so for a short while, but then they ‘forgot’ it again.

When I checked their website last week I found yet another five articles, stolen from this website, without any link back. What made me really angry was that they even stole an article with my very own pictures. I again sent CarBuzz.com an email but didn’t get any reply. I then send CarBuzz.com one email more but still no reply.

I have always been very polite, I said ‘please’, but all to no avail. I believe CarBuzz’ thievery has crossed a line and therefore this rather unusual article. See below for the list of stolen articles and the names of the editor-in-thieves who did the ‘work’.

Hello Tycho,

First off, we really enjoy the stories you cover in China every day. Regarding the Lexus ES sedan link, we apologize for the oversight in not linking it back to you. It has been corrected.

We are careful in making sure stories are linked back to their source (this time was an unfortunate exception).

In regards to the font size on our website, that’s simply the way the site is formatted throughout, no matter the source(s). Looking forward to more of your coverage.

Best,

CarBuzz Team

This is the last article CarBuzz.com stole. After my email they sneakily linked back to the original Chinese story, like CarBuzz.com is checking out obscure Chinese sites on military things. But the best is; the information in my article on the Type 05, copied by CarBuzz, was not in the Chinese original. I added that, since I know a few things about Chinese guns. Got you there again CarBuzz!

Sure I missed some more, but you get the point. Here the bad men who did most of it:

‘Writer’ Phillip Harbor. And I don’t makes this up, CarBuzz says: Phillip Harbor was born and raised in a small town in southwest Ohio. His passion for cars and trucks began at a very young age as he grew up working in his family’s scrap yard. Well, a country guy… Are we surprised!

‘Writer’ Adam Lynton. An Englishman this is. Has a history, according to CarBuzz: Getting banned from driving after the naughtiness of a Toyota MR2 caught him out once too often is a memory he’d rather forget. A naughty Adam… He lived in Thailand for a while, doing naughty things with the lady boys me think.

‘Writer’ Jay Traugott. Nothing funny on this one, still, he is no better than the other two.

Philip, Adam and Jay, you aren’t worth a real writers’ shit in your face. :)

All righto. That is it so far, but this article is just a start of getting @ CarBuzz.com. After checking some other stories on their site I found out CarBuzz doesn’t steal just from us but from many other websites as well, more on that soon later…
