Car and City: HOZON Auto tops other Chinese NEV startups by April 2022 registrations
Shanghai (ZXZC)- HOZON Auto, the Chinese startup owning the EV brand NETA, recorded a monthly registration volume of 9,120 units in April 2022, down 15% from the previous month, but still surged 212.4% from the previous year, according to the data compiled by ZXZC Auto Research Institute (GARI).

In terms of the April registrations of locally-produced new energy passenger vehicles (NEPVs), NETA ranked fifth among all auto brands in China, the highest one among Chinese NEV startups.
Last month, the best-selling model of the brand was the NETA V, accounting for 57.4% of NETA's overall registrations. Compared to March, the NETA V logged a 22.7% decline in April registrations.
In April, Foshan and Tianjin were the only two cities with over 200 NETA Vs registered. Jiaxing, where HOZON Auto's car manufacturing plant is located, was the second runner-up regarding April registrations of the model.
The monthly registrations of the NETA U edged down 2.2% from a month earlier to 3,857 units in April, 70.7% of which were registered by private users.
Foshan still outperformed other cities by April registrations of the NETA U. Shenzhen was the runner-up with 181 NETA Us registered. Both Beijing and Shanghai failed to enter the top 10 cities rankings.
Last month, there were only 24 NETA N01s registered across China.
Xuancheng topped other cities with only 7 NETA N01s registered in April.
