Per the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed at an online ceremony, the two companies will jointly build a battery-grade lithium carbonate refinery, which will be granted the right to prospect and mine for potential lithium resources in a land covering around 17,000 hectares, in a bid to ensure the lithium supply.
Moreover, the duo will also team up on businesses related to the downstream lithium battery industrial chain, such as cathode materials and battery manufacturing.
Gotion High-Tech also said it would explore European and American markets with JEMSE.
JEMSE is located in Jujuy Province, Argentina, which boasts abundant salt lakes resources, extensive mining experience, and low-cost extraction of lithium from brines, and is controlled by the provincial government. It is engaged in the surveying, prospecting, and exploration of hydrocarbons and mineral resources. It also operates in the renewable energy generation, transmission, and distribution sector. The company has already formed tie-ups with firms from France, Australia, Canada, the U.S., Japan, and China.
