NIO delivers 5,074 vehicles in April 2022
Shanghai (ZXZC)- NIO’s monthly deliveries saw double-digit decrease in April in both year-over-year and month-over-month change, affected by COVID-19 outbreaks in some regions.
Last month, the Chinese electric vehicle startup delivered 5,074 new vehicles, representing a decline of 28.6% from a year earlier and a decline of 49.2% from a month ago. The monthly results consisted of 4,381 electric SUVs, including 1,251 ES8s, 1,878 ES6s and 1,252 EC6s, and 693 electric sedans, namely the ET7.
For the first four months of this year, NIO has delivered a total of 30,842 new vehicles, increasing 13.5% when compared with the same period of last year. As of April 30, 2022, its cumulative deliveries reached 197,912 vehicles.
The company said in a statement that its vehicle production and delivery had been affected by the supply chain volatilities and other issues caused by a new wave of the COVID-19 outbreaks in certain regions in China. Earlier in April, NIO said that some of its supply chain partners had stopped the production because of the pandemic, affecting its vehicle production. On April 15, the company said its production had been recovering.
The company will continue to closely monitor the situation and the consequence of those challenges, and work with its supply chain partners to accelerate the recovery of production to its full capacity.
