Qoros Auto aims to roll out 21 new models by 2022

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Qoros Auto plans to roll out 21 new models by 2022, the automaker revealed at a press conference on September 27.

According to the unveiled product planning, a number of models will be intensively launched from 2019, including SUVs, cars, MPVs and corresponding NEV versions. In 2019, the company is going to roll out two fuel-burning compact SUV models, one BEV (battery electric vehicle) car model and one BEV SUV model. Then, Qoros Auto will launch medium-sized or mid-full-sized car and SUV models in 2021. Moreover, the automaker's first MPV model is set to be published in 2022.

Qoros Auto will keep strengthening its R&D and marketing abilities onward. From January to August, the company saw its cumulative sales skyrocket 456% year on year to 41,863 vehicles after its 51% stake secured by Baoneng Group. Besides, the automaker has by far had over 200 4S shops countrywide and will further enlarge its sales network.

The Qoros Auto Research Institute is expected to have around 1,000 staff members by the end of 2018. It will contain various functional units, such as the modeling and design center, the complete vehicle (including platform) R&D center, the new material research lab, the new energy search lab, the intelligent connectivity (including autonomous driving) research lab and the powertrain research lab, etc.

Qoros Auto also strives to develop businesses in intelligent mobility area by forming partnerships with such industrial prominent companies as Didi Chuxing, Banma Technologies, Baidu Apollo as well as Bosch, etc.
