BAIC BJEV boasts three-digit YoY growth in March production, sales volumes

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker BAIC BJEV produced and sold 1,019 and 5,735 vehicles in March 2022, representing a year-on-year hike of 239.7% and 438.5% respectively, according to the monthly sales results released by its parent company BAIC BluePark New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (BAIC BluePark).

For the first quarter of 2022, BAIC BJEV saw its vehicle outputs surge 122.1% year on year to 2,703 units, while its sales volume also soared 189.6% to 9,120 units.

BAIC BluePark announced several days ago it scored a 64.95% year-on-year surge in the full-year revenue of 2021, which amounted to around 8.697 billion yuan ($1.367 billion). Meanwhile, it recorded an annual net loss of 5.243 billion yuan ($824.494 million) attributable to shareholders, which narrowed from the loss of 6.482 billion yuan ($1.019 billion) for the year-ago period.

Notably, BAIC BluePark turned the negative net cash flows from operating activities in 2020 into the positive ones of 4.985 billion yuan ($783.859 million) in 2021.

The company currently has two auto brands, namely, ARCFOX and BEIJING. Under ARCFOX, two premium all-electric passenger vehicle models—the αT and the αS—have been put into the market. Focusing on mass-market products and the mobility service area, the BEIJING brand has the all-electric car series “EU”.

BAIC BluePark aims to hit an annual sales volume of 100,000 vehicles in 2022, 40% of which are expected to be fulfilled by ARCFOX.
