XPeng delivers 15,414 vehicles in March, including 9,183 P7s

Beijing (ZXZC)- Chinese smart electric vehicle company XPeng Inc. achieved better delivery results than expected in the first quarter of this year, driven by the substantial growth of the P7.

The Guangzhou-based automaker delivered a total of 15,414 Smart EVs in the third month of this year, representing a 202% increase year-over-year and a 148% increase from the previous month. The monthly sales volume is the third highest since it started deliveries.

March also marked the first time for the P7 smart sports sedan to exceed 9,000 units. With 9,183 units delivered in a single month, the sedan set a new delivery record for all the battery electric vehicle models of Chinese startups. Last month, XPeng also delivered 4,398 P5 smart family sedans and 1,833 G3 and G3i smart compact SUVs.

Thanks to the results of March, XPeng’s quarterly sales amounted to 34,561 units, not only representing a year-over-year increase of 159%, but also surpassing the high end of its outlook by 561 units. On March 28, the company said it expected the quarterly deliveries to range from 33,500 to 34,000 units when it reported 2021 financial results.

By models, the quarterly deliveries of its three models were 19,427 P7s, 10,486 P5s and 4,648 G3 and G3i SUVs respectively. As of March 31, 2022, XPeng’s cumulative deliveries reached 172,514 vehicles.
