Shanghai (ZXZC)- China's PV sales totaled around 1.7604 million units in August, rising 12.3% over the previous month, while declining 5.0% year on year. From January to August, a total of 14.8895 million PVs were handed over with a year-on-year growth of 3.1%, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

The nationwide car sales shrank 4.3% from the previous year to around 900 thousand units, accounting for 51% of overall PV sales in China last month. For the first eight months, China's car sales aggregated 7.4261 million units in August, climbing 3.5% year on year.

Among the top 20 car models on the list, the Emgrand was the only China's self-owned model, ranking seventh above the Civic and the Bora.
