Daimler Greater China names Guan Shaoqing as new strategy executive vice president

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Guan Shaoqing, the current head of public relations (PR) at Daimler Greater China Ltd. (DGRC) and Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Company (BMBS), has been promoted to strategy executive vice president at DGRC, DGRC and BMBS announced on September 11.

Mr Guan will directly report to Hubertus Troska, a member of the board of management of Daimler AG who is responsible China businesses.

Meanwhile, companies also announced that Zhou Juan, current senior PR manager at BMBS will succeed Guan Shaoqing as PR director at BMBS.

Guan Shaoqing joined Mercedes-Benz in 2014 and was named as BMBS' PR director in 2014. During the past four years, he and his PR team have made great contribution to the popularity of Mercedes-Benz brand in China along with the German brand's blooming development in this country.

His successor Zhou Juan joined Mercedes-Benz sales group in China in 2006 and has served in several units, such as marketing and PR, boasting rich practical experience in sales and PR.

In August, Mercedes-Benz and Smart brand delivered a total of 54,885 new cars in Mainland China, a year-on-year increase of 5%. Meanwhile, the Jan-Aug sales of the two brands aggregated 457,045 units in the world's largest auto market, up by 12% from a year ago. Especially, 72% of overall China sales consisted of China-made car sales.
