SAIC Audi starts presale of Q5 e-tron BEV, starting at 395,500 yuan
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The Q5 e-tron, the second model under the SAIC-Audi project, officially became available for presale on Feb. 18. Coming with nine trim levels, the new model is priced between 395,500 yuan ($62,530) and 510,000 yuan ($80,640) in presale.
As SAIC Audi's first luxury all-electric SUV, the Q5 e-tron is the mass production version of the Audi Concept Shanghai concept car shown at the Auto Shanghai 2021. It is built on VW Group’s MEB electric vehicle platform, which also provides the underpinnings for the Audi Q4 e-tron and Volkswagen's ID. series.
Outside, the Q5 e-tron features a massive close-off grille coupled with a pair of aggressive headlights, which is usually seen on the e-tron family’s members. Notably, it comes with two options for the front end’s design and body color.

The e-tron Q5 measures 4,876mm long, 1,860mm wide, and 1,675mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,965mm. The generous length allows for a folding third row of seats in the back, giving this car six-/seven-seater arrangements.

Inside the cabin, plentiful elements for a digital cockpit can be found, such as the AR HUD, the augmented digital dashboard, the new-generation MMI (Multi Media Interface) system, as well as the all-touch-sensitive steering wheel.
Moreover, the automaker said the car's in-vehicle system can be connected to wearable devices, allowing users to remotely open car doors, turn on the air-conditioning system, and check the remaining range.
All variants of the Q5 e-tron come standard with an 83.4kWh ternary-lithium battery pack. The model offers two power system options. The rear-wheel-drive 40 carries an electric motor that is good for 204PS and 310 N·m and has a CLTC-rated range of 560kM. The 50 quattro features a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, producing 306PS and having a 520-km range.
