FAW Group, BOE build partnership to develop vehicle display technology
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese state-owned automaker FAW Group and Boe Technology Group Co., Ltd (BOE) agreed a strategic partnership in recent days to jointly work on in-vehicle display technologies, according to local media.
Under the partnership, both companies will conduct in-depth cooperation in such technical fields as the TFT-LCD (thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display), OLED (organic light-emitting diode), IoV (internet of vehicles) smart system and car-borne sensors by deeply integrating resources from two companies and finally put the cooperative achievements into practical applications. Apart from that, FAW Group and BOE will make concerted efforts to promote products and operate industrial-related investments.
BOE is an IoT (Internet of Things) company providing intelligent interface products and services for information interaction and human health, according to the introduction on the company's website. The company, regarding the display and sensor device as a major business, has been committed to leading the innovation and development of TFT-LCD technologies and speeding up the development of AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode), flexible display, VR/AR and other new display devices and sensors.
At the “BOE Innovation Day” held by FAW Group, the 12.3-inch OLED flexible-surface console display and the 42-inch hyperboloid in-car display developed by the IoT company attracted a lot of attention. Meanwhile, FAW Group and BOE exchanged ideas on the future development of IoT in automotive market.
