Shanghai (ZXZC)- Tesla is on a new hiring spree in China as the EV manufacturer is to further boost its sales performance in the world’s largest auto market.

Tesla China launches another hiring spree for over 1,500 jobs

The job posting was released on Feb. 7 via Tesla China's human resources WeChat account. According to the latest update, the company has posted 1,532 job listings and the number is still growing.

The job ad involves 11 occupational categories in total, including R&D, intelligent manufacturing, sales and delivery, services, information technologies, infrastructure construction, supply chain, environmental health and safety, functional support, and production lines, etc.

To be specific, 275 and 387 jobs are set for the sales & delivery and the service categories. The R&D, intelligent manufacturing, and production line sectors occupy 192, 162, and 133 spots respectively.

Last year, Tesla China's performance was quite impressive, especially given the presence of the industry-wide chip shortage that had adverse impacts on sales forecasts of many automakers around the world.

According to an official press release, the Gigafactory Shanghai produced 484,130 cars in 2021, up 235% year on year and making up more than half of Tesla's global full-year deliveries (936,000 units). Meanwhile, the Shanghai facility shipped over 160,000 vehicles to more than ten nations in Europe and Asia.

The 10-K filing Tesla submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on Monday shows that Tesla's revenue in the Chinese market in 2021 reached $13.844 billion, surging 107.8% year on year and growing over 100% annually for two consecutive years.
