Top 10 SUV models by June sales in China
Shanghai (ZXZC)- ZXZC compiled the top 10 SUV models by June sales in China hereinafter based on the data released by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA). Last month, half of the SUV models on the list encountered substantial drop in monthly sales versus its prior-year performance. Although a total of 6 China-owned SUV models entered into the top 10 list by June sales, three of them suffered decline over the previous year.
The Haval H6 maintained the sales championship with 26,279 vehicles delivered in June, while faced year-on-year decline in both monthly sales and year-to-date sales. The Geely Boyue, surpassing the Baojun 510 in June, took the No.2 place with its monthly sales and cumulative sales climbing 4.5% and 11.8% year on year. The second runner-up Baojun 510, once outperforming the Haval H6 as the best seller in February and March, saw its June sales tumbled 33.2% from a year ago. It seems that the reshuffle within the SUV segment has been rather fierce all the time.
The fourth to sixth places were occupies by joint-venture models, namely, the X-Trail, the Tiguan, and the Envision. It was quite a surprise that the sales of the X-Trail exceeded the Tiguan in June, ranking fourth on the list. The advertisement for the 2018 World Cup seemingly promoted the sales growth for the Sino-Japanese model to some degree. The Envision, ranking sixth, was one of the only two joint-venture models which witnessed their year-to-date sales over 100,000 units.
Within the last four models, the Trumpchi GS4 suffered year-on-year slump in both monthly sales and Jan-to-June sales, which has not benefitted from the intelligentization upgrading yet. The Emgrand GS, the Geely Auto's second model on the list, ranked ninth followed by the Honda XR-V.
