Last month, the Guangzhou-based startup began to transition production of the G3 to G3i, the mid-cycle facelift version, in its wholly-owned Zhaoqing Smart EV Manufacturing Base, which affected some planned deliveries of the G3. Deliveries of the G3i are expected to commence in September. Besides, XPeng plans to officially launch the P5 family sedan, its third production model, on September 15, with deliveries starting in October.
In order to meet the growing market demand, its Zhaoqing manufacturing base started to operate two shifts. After the expansion, the base will have a designed manufacturing capacity of over 200,000 vehicles from the first half of next year. Its plant in Guangzhou, which is under construction, will start production from the third quarter of 2022.
