My thought is that Opel and Buick will start to grow apart in China. I would expect Buick to be modified by Chinese designers and rely less on importing an Opel and then putting a Buick badge on it. They will likely share the same underpinnings but not sheet metal

I also see space for Opel and Buick. Buick is American mid-luxury with Opel being a sold a German/Euro spec car with different driving dynamics. There are some great models in the Opel family that, I believe, wouldn’t fit well with the Buick image such as the small cars and Opel Performance Cars (OPC) models.
