Lotus will officially enter the Chinese market on June 15. It will set up its own distribution channels and dealer network. Lotus got a new Chinese name: Lutesi, a sound translation of Lotus. The old Chinese name, Lianhua, is now gone because Lotus does not want to be confused with the Lianhua-brand from Chinese company Youngman which makes Proton cars for the China market. Proton is the owner of Lotus.

Some confusion remains about which cars Lotus will offer in China. Yesterday the Chinese media were all over the the Europa SE, today is seems Lotus will only offer the Elise, Exige and Evora. More on this as we know it.
