Suzuki recalls over 4000 imported SUVs
Suzuki Motor (China) Investment Co., Ltd. (Suzuki China) sent an official report to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine concerning its recent recall of 4,007 Grand Vitara compact SUVs. The recall will commence on the 28th of this month and target imports from June 2008 to October 2010.
Suzuki claims the issue is with the potential lack of engine fasteners springs in its Grand Vitara vehicles, which may cause the engine fastener to loosen, auto.163.com reported today. Prolonged usage may lead to problems with the power steering pump, engine and cooling system, with the possibility of the power steering system failing.
Suzuki China will refit recalled units for free, while any unsold units will be inspected before being placed on sale again. The serial numbers for vehicles targeted for the fault are as follows: TA04V-4M, TA04V-4M, TD04V-4M and TD04V-4V.
