Dongfeng Nissan unveils latest vehicle intelligent connectivity system

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Dongfeng Nissan unveiled a vehicle intelligent connectivity system dubbed “Intelligent Mobility +” on its 15-year anniversary. It made the Sino-Japanese automaker the first player to have intelligent connectivity system with independent intellectual property rights among mainstream vehicle joint ventures in China, according to local media.

Based on Nissan Intelligent Mobility technologies, the development of “Intelligent Mobility +” system involves cooperation with several partners, including China Unicom, AutoNavi, iFlytek, Alibaba Cloud, Tencent, etc.

The intelligent connectivity system boasts such basic applications as full-time navigation, intelligent voice control, remote real-time monitoring and vehicle-borne Wi-Fi. With the help of AutoNavi, a Chinese mapping, navigation and location-based services provider, the system could update the on-line map in real time, possessing functions like congestion avoidance, inertial navigation as well as round-the-clock and non-blind-spot navigation.

In addition, the “Intelligent Mobility +”system uses advanced voice recognition technology from iFlytek, which is applicable to more than 200 vehicular scenarios.

From 2018, Dongfeng Nissan plans to put the Nissan Intelligent Mobility strategy into practice from three aspects, intelligent power, intelligent driving and intelligent integration.

At Auto China 2018, the joint venture had showcased the Sylphy Zero Emission, a BEV sedan model based on Nissan’s E-platform. In the near future, some Nissan-branded power technologies, like EV, e-POWER and VCT, will be introduced in China in succession. Besides, the company will roll out 5 electric power-driven models by 2022.

As to intelligent driving, Dongfeng Nissan will gradually introduce a range of autonomous driving technologies like ProPILOT and ProPILOT Park. From 2019 to 2021, the company will enable its autonomous vehicles to run on single lane on highway, multilane on highway and complex urban roads successively.

Apart from launching the “Intelligent Mobility +” system, the automaker will complete installing the system in its main models across the entire lineup by the end of 2018.
