Huawei unveils new IoV platform OceanConnect to promote automakers’ digital transformation
Shanghai (ZXZC)- At the CEBIT 2018 (Europe's Business Festival for Innovation and Digitization), Chinese smart phone maker Huawei unveiled its latest IoV (Internet of Vehicles) platform dubbed OceanConnect to help automakers to intelligentize and interconnect their vehicles, promote enterprises' transformation from a pure vehicle marker to a mobility service provider, and accelerate the evolvement for the traffic intelligentization.
IoV platform is the key for automakers to digitalize their products and ICT (information, communications and technology) is regarded as the “digital engine” to drive ICV (intelligent-connected vehicle) progress as well. Reportedly, Huawei's OceanConnect could help automakers to go through transformation in four aspects, including connectivity, data, ecosystem and synergy evolvement.
The platform provides safe and reliable connectivity for cars, supporting whopping connection and enormous high concurrency. Besides, by virtue of Huawei's capacity to deploy public cloud across the world, the OceanConnect will enable automakers to conduct operation worldwide.
In addition, the platform could create profiles of drivers and vehicles (Digital Twins) on the cloud by means of collecting data from driving conditions and driving behaviors and analyzing them afterwards. The accurate analysis of driving behavior and scenarios enables intelligent content distribution and service recommendations.
As to ecosystem, by separating data from services, the platform helps automakers to master their digital assets, converge the third-party contents and applications and build an ecosystem center on their businesses.
What's more, the OceanConnect platform can develop with V2X and will witnesses an evolvement from the solely vehicle intelligence to the synergistic intelligence between vehicles and road, which will enhance the traffic safety and efficiency at the same time.
Up to now, Huawei and French automaker Groupe PSA have built the world’s largest factory-installed IoV program. The DS 7, the first model based on Huawei's OceanConnect has been launched in China and Europe and will be used to provide consumers with innovation mobility services. Additionally, Huawei has partnered with FAW Group and GAC group at a strategic level in IoV area. Going forward, Huawei will continue to explore in IoV field and promote automobile industry's digital transformation.
