Great Wall Motor delivers 70,900 vehicles in May, edging up 2.85% year on year
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor (GWM) posted May sales of 70,900 units, edging up 2.85% from a year earlier. To be specific, sales of SUVs reached 58,700 units with a slight growth of 0.51% over the previous year. During the past five months, GWM's cumulative sales totaled 409,300 units with a year-on-year increase of 3.29%.
In May, Haval's SUVs except the H9 all suffered sales decline to different degrees. The total sales of Haval SUVs reached 47,610 units, slumping 18.46% year on year. Particularly, the H2's sales shrank by 67.27% year on year to 5,086 units in May. The Haval H6, GWM's sales driver, saw continued sales decline of 13.18% to 30,616 units in May.
According to the sales data released by GWM, In May, GWM's high-end brand WEY suffered substantial sales drop for both the VV5 and the VV7. The total sales of both models only reached 10,576 units in May. Specifically, deliveries of the VV5 and the VV7 reached 5,562 units and 5,014 units respectively in May.
Total sales of GWM's WEY brand reached 11,079 units in May. Among them, deliveries of the P8, a newly-launched plug-in hybrid SUV, only reached 503 units in May.
