JD.com joins force with Tenneco, Continental to further deploy in wearing auto parts

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese e-commerce giant JD.com and four world-famous auto parts suppliers, Gates, Tenneco, Continental and KYB, signed an joint agreement on May 29 to conduct in-depth cooperation in supply chain, technology, logistics and authorized terminal store, etc.

The four auto parts partners will provide JD.com with great number of products, covering automobile timing system, brake disc plate and shock absorbers with over 5,000 high-quality SKU (stock keeping unit) and will offer more abundant automobile wearing products to repair factories.

Limited by the high value, slow turnaround time, complicated SKU categories and demanding services, it is difficult for auto parts suppliers to penetrate into repair shops and bear great pressure in supplying, timely delivery and service ability. JD.com joined forced with auto parts suppliers and their agents to jointly enhance the service of repair shops and the efficiency of supplying goods to repair shops, based on proprietary trading and the third-party platform.

Using the on-line and off-line advantages from all sides, JD.com will join hands with other four participants to explore in-depth collaboration between brand licensing installation shops and Jingchehui (in Chinese), JD.com's auto products platform, to provide car owners with more secure and superior auto parts products and services.

In addition, JD.com plans to start the trial operation of the “front warehouse” project in early June, aiming to complete a delivery within one hour.
