Beijing Hyundai posts YoY sales growth of nearly 27% through May

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Beijing Hyundai reported its cumulative sales of over 330,000 units from January to May, jumping nearly 27% over the previous year. In May, Beijing Hyundai delivered more than 60,427 vehicles with a YoY surge of 72%.

Driven by the Elantra Lingdong, Beijing Hyundai saw positive sales growth for 11 month in a row from July, 2017.Sales of the Hyundai Elantra Lingdong skyrocketed 572% from a year earlier to 18,045 units in May. Besides, the model's cumulative sales during the first five months shot up 233% compared to the same period last year.

In addition, Beijing Hyundai's SUV sales reached 111,764 units from January to May, leaping 59.1% year on year. During the past five months, Beijing Hyundai's "D+S" series models took up 60% of its total sales through May, which is almost approaching the historic sales peak.

In 2018, Beijing Hyundai will see fast upgrades on products. In the second half of this year, the automaker will launch six new models, including the Elantra Yuedong RV, the LAFESTA and the all-new Sonata plug-in hybrid.

Beijing Hyundai has released a range of Chinese customer-tailored new models, including the new Mistra, the new ix25, the all-new Verna and the all-new Elantra, meeting Chinese customers' demands. Apart from these locally-produced models, Beijing Hyundai will also introduce a slew of classic global models into the Chinese market, like the Sonata series, Elantra series, and the newly-launched ENCINO.
