Tesla plans to triple the size of its global Supercharger network over the next two years, an executive with Tesla said after the company released its Q3 financial results. He added, on an individual-site basis to combat existing congestion more rapidly, Tesla's supercharging team is expediting local relief sites by deploying mobile Superchargers and trying to introduce pricing strategies that encourage more off-peak usage to avoid the waiting.

In Chinese mainland, the U.S-based EV manufacturer launched its 1,000th Supercharger station on October 22.

Tesla's first China-based Supercharger station was launched in Jinqiao Town, Shanghai in April 2014. In December 2019, the automaker's first V3 Supercharger station for the country also started operation in Shanghai. In this megacity, the number of Tesla Supercharger stations reached 100 on Sept. 29.
