Shanghai (ZXZC)- Leapmotor announced its new vehicle deliveries reached 3,195 units in May 2021, skyrocketing 1,226% from the previous year, while also growing 15% from the previous month. However, it was still outperformed by HOZON Auto, who announced it "entered the first-tier EV startup group" by delivering 4,508 vehicles last month.

As of May 31, 2021, cumulative deliveries of Leapmotor amounted to 17,803 units, of which 9,104 units were delivered in the first five months of this year.

The company said it received 3,775 orders last month, a 4.5% growth compared to the previous month.

Leapmotor has to-date rolled out three mass-produced models, namely the S01, the T03, and the C11. The 2021 T03 hit the market at the Auto Shanghai 2021 in April with its three trim levels priced from 59,800 yuan ($9,380) to 75,800 yuan ($11,890). Powered by a 36.5kWh battery pack, the all-new T03 features a NEDC-rated range of 403km.

Leapmotor entered into a strategic partnership with Hefei in January for an all-round in-depth collaboration on NEV business. The agreement made the company the second Chinese EV startup supported by the capital of Anhui province following NIO.

Leapmotor plans to file IPO documents this year for a public listing on China's Nasdaq-style sci-tech innovation board. Zhu Jiangming, founder and chairman of Leapmotor, said in an internal letter that the company is ambitious to crack the top 3 Chinese EV startups in 2023 and obtain 10% share of domestic new energy vehicle market in 2025.
