Shanghai (ZXZC)- GAC Automotive Engineering Institute (GAC Engineering) and Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) company iFlyTek officially established the AI Automobile Technology Center in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province on May 21. Both parties will jointly build a world-leading AI vehicle technology innovation platform based on the industry-oriented demands of GAC Engineering.

According to the agreement, two parties will carry out in-depth cooperation in innovation platform, talent training as well as studies on some special subjects to promote the construction and development of the new innovation center. iFlyTek intends to deepen its AI technology applications in various ICV scenarios relying on the cooperation. GAC Engineering aims to lay a solid technology foundation in some cutting-edge technical areas like AI and develop a range of world-leading technologies with self-owned intellectual property rights.

GAC Group and iFlytek inked a 5-year strategic cooperation agreement on December 7 last year. Based on the agreement, iFlytek will assist GAC in developing intelligent vehicle terminal products and platforms to provide users with a better driving experience.

Additionally, the two sides will also build a joint data platform based on artificial intelligence and big data analysis to proffer data support for GAC Group’s vehicle sales business, including marketing strategy analysis and marketing evaluation. Besides, iFlytek will also create service robot for its partner’s sales stores, serving as reception- and sales-assistants.
