Dongfeng Motor, FAW Group exchange senior executives again
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chinese state-owned automaker FAW Group announced on May 14 that Sun Zhiyang was named as the group’s new vice general manager and member of the standing committee of CPC. Meanwhile, Lei Ping, who had served as vice president in Dongfeng Motor Corporation (Dongfeng Motor), has been transferred to FAW Group as vice general manager and member of the standing committee.
This is another senior executive exchange between FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor in May. Just three days ago, Dongfeng Motor claimed a personnel reshuffle that You Zheng, who previously worked in FAW Group, was appointed as the group’s vice general manager and member of the standing committee. Meanwhile, Liu Weidong and Lei Ping will leave the company for other assignment.
The personnel exchange between FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor could be traced back to three years ago. Xu Ping, Dongfeng Motor’s chairman, became the chairman of FAW Group in May 5, 2015. Meanwhile, the former FAW Group’s chairman Zhu Yanfeng headed to Dongfeng Motor as chairman when he was holding the post of deputy party secretary of Jilin Province.
In April 2017, An Tiecheng was transferred to Dongfeng Motor after he had been promoted as FAW Group’s vice general manager two months ago. At the same time, Qiu Xiandong left Dongfeng Motor for FAW Group as vice general manage and member of the standing committee.
Apart from senior executives' exchange, FAW Group and Dongfeng Motor extend cooperation in various areas. For instance, two groups signed a strategic agreement on February 17, 2017 to jointly build an innovation center for forward-looking and generic technology development. In December last year, three state-owned automakers, FAW Group, Dongfeng Motor and Changan Auto, inked a strategic framework agreement to cooperate in technology pioneering and innovation, auto whole value chain operation, overseas businesses expansion and business mode innovation.
