The 50/50 joint venture will develop electric vehicle (EV) high-power charging infrastructures and services within Central China's Hubei province, aiming to installing and operating more than 11,000 high-power charging points by 2025, according to TotalEnergies' statement.
The joint venture will leverage TotalEnergies’ global expertise in electric mobility and CTG's capability in green energy production and supply. The two parties attempt to develop co-branded high-power charging hubs and standalone charging stations, which will be open to the general public and equipped with 60kW and 120kW charging piles.
Moreover, the duo will also build the charging stations dedicated to B2B customers. To conform with their respective ambitions to carbon neutrality, the electricity used to power their joint energy network will be generated mostly from renewable energy sources.
“We share common and important visions with China Three Gorges the ambition to reach carbon neutrality, the undeniable willingness to push for renewable power and the enthusiasm to develop electric mobility,” declared Alexis Vovk, President Marketing & Services at TotalEnergies. “This partnership with CTG opens new doors to TotalEnergies for a long-term and widened cooperation with a leader of China’s electric energy industry.”
