At the center of the stage is the BAO GX5 (internally coded-named GX16), the first BAO-branded production model. The all-electric SUV features a closed-off grille and a slim LED strip that runs across the entire front.
Carrying a power battery pack in-house developed by Baoneng Motor, the BAO GX5 comes with two versions based on range, namely, 700km and 800km. The vehicle may zip from 0-100km/h within 4.5 seconds.
The GX5 is expected to roll off the production line in Baoneng Motor’s Guangzhou manufacturing base in July 2022, said the company. Construction of the plant is set to be finished before the end of March.
Meanwhile, the company also showcased such models as the BAO GX18 (code-name), two BAO-branded concepts, and the model code-named C21 under Qoros, where Baoneng Motor controls stake.
Baoneng Motor announced the launch of the premium NEV brand “BAO” in last June and started soliciting slogan for the brand globally at the same time.
Yao Zhenhua, Chairman of Baoneng Group, revealed Baoneng Motor has obtained strategic investments of Science City (Guangzhou) Investment Group and China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City.
